![]() Not that Darcie cared about things like that anymore, sticking one of the markers up her nose as she continued to doodle and draw. Now her plain old white diaper looked far more colourful, and not the slight shade of yellow on the front that gave away her little accident earlier. She giggled as she grabbed more of her markers and drew more coloured lines across her diaper. Sitting up, Darcie glanced down at her diaper, seemingly deep in through for a moment before she picked up one of the markers and drew a line across her diaper with it. The v-neck sweater she had been wearing before had changed a plaid t-shirt, one that did nothing to hide the thick diaper that had replaced her panties and jeans. Now, the once aspiring lawyer giggled to herself as she sat on a playmat on the floor, doodling silly drawings with coloured markers onto pieces of paper on the floor. Not that Darcie was aware of any changes having taken place. It only lasted a fraction of a second, but by the time it was over Darcie and everything in her apartment had been changed. Darcie had spent years working her way through law school, with dreams of becoming an appointed judge one day.Īs she scanned through her law textbook, she was unaware as a Ripple passed over her. On this particular day, this smart woman was busy studying to pass the bar exam that would finally allow her to start practicing law. On this day, one such Ripple passed over the planet Earth, though the effects of this ripple were only felt by a small group of people across the globe, most of which were barely aware that their very concept of reality had changed at all. Usually such changes are relatively minor anyway and go without being noticed even by those aware something has changed, but other times the effects of these “Ripples” can be far more pronounced. In rare cases, individuals might experience a nagging feeling that something was amiss. Though the vast majority would never know who or what had altered these rules, this same people would neither care not notice a change in their reality, going about their day with the same assurance that things were how they were supposed to be and had always been. However, those same people would be horrified to learn then that the fabric of reality is not so set in stone as they were first lead to believe, but a constant rippling force that could change at a moment’s whim, radically altering the way these rules became enforced. This belief is what provides most people with a sort of unspoken foundation for how the world worked, offering a comforting notion that these same rules could never be altered, changed, or rewritten. Up is up, blue is blue, water is wet, and so on. To most sentient beings, the concept of “reality” is widely believed to be a constant, unchanging force, defining the very rules and laws the universe must abide by.
